The ultimate behind-the-scenes winery tour during the most spectacular time of year in the beautiful Paso Robles wine region.
Discover what makes Paso Robles Distinct and Different during this two-day, luxury winery and vineyard tour that will show you how wine is made from “berry-to-bottle”. This indulgent wine and food experience is for discerning wine lovers who want to receive the royal treatment while getting an inside look at the Paso Robles wine industry in action during the busy, harvest crush season.
This is a rare treat that will take you on exclusive tours of vineyards and wineries where you’ll meet growers and winemakers, enjoy fabulous wine country cuisine and get a “taste” of what winemaking is like.
5:30 pm– Your journey through the Paso Robles wine region begins with a Sunday evening welcome reception that features a vineyard tour and berry sampling at the Pomar Junction Vineyards with owner/grower, Dana Merrill. You’ll get to taste how the berries from varietals differ and learn how terroir influences the wine your drink. You’ll also have an opportunity to taste Pomar Junction’s estate wines while enjoying light appetizers.
A Taste of Terroir (Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery)
Great wines begin in the vineyard. On Day 2 of the Harvest Tour de Vin, you’ll tour a variety of beautiful Westside Paso Robles’ vineyards and wineries while seeing, learning and tasting about the Paso Robles wine producing region.
Harvest 101 (Westside Ranch)– Day 2 kicks off with a tour of the beautiful Westside Ranch with vineyard manager and viticulturist, Lowell J. Zelinski, Ph.D. You’ll find out what decisions are made during the grape harvest process, enjoy a stroll through the vineyard and have a chance to taste some of the award-winning wines produced from the grapes of the vineyard with owner/grower Andrea Huber.
Paso from Past to Present (Halter Ranch Winery)– On your next stop, you’ll learn some of the history of the Paso Robles’ wine region while touring and tasting at the Halter Ranch Winery. Set on the grounds of a historical ranch, you’ll get a glimpse of the winery crew at work at their new, state-of-the-art production facility then meander through the underground caves.
Lunch under the oaks– Enjoy a gourmet wine country picnic lunch prepared by Chef Jeffry Wiesinger under the shady oaks of the Halter Ranch Winery.
Sustaining the Wine Region (Tablas Creek Vineyard & Winery)– Sustainable wine grape growing has become the norm for most Paso Robles vineyards but has been perfected at Tablas Creek. As you stroll through the vineyard, you’ll learn the techniques used by the winery to sustain the vineyard and see the animals and other wildlife that is part of the natural process. The tour concludes with a drafting demonstration and a white Rhone varietal tasting with owner Jason Haas or winemaker Neil Collins.
Perfect Endings (Roxo Port Cellars)– No wine experience is complete without dessert. A stop at Roxo Port Cellars to find out how ports are made with owner/winemaker Jeff Roxo will be the perfect ending to Day 1 of the Harvest Tour de Vin.
Winemaker Dinner– Enjoy a fabulous winemaker dinner prepared by local chef Thomas Drahos of Avant-Garde Experience.
Day 3 is an exploration of small and large-scale winemaking operations on the eastside of Paso Robles. You’ll see and hear from both small and large wine producers how wine is made and enjoy a variety of wine and food tasting experiences.
From Berry to Bottle (Stillwater Vineyards & Winery)Enjoy a gourmet Sunday Brunch and winery tour at Croad Vineyard & Winery.
Lunch Provencal – (Cass Vineyard & Winery)Find out how Cass Winery chef Jacob Lovejoy pairs the Cass Rhone-style wines with red Rhone varietals.
Winemaking 101 (Robert Hall Vineyard & Winery)) – Hear and see how wine is made on a larger scale with winemaker Don Brady at the Robert Hall Winery. This tour starts on the crush pad where you’ll see winemaking in progress then through the fermentation room and concludes with a tour of the underground caves.
The Art of Blending Wine (First Crush Cellars)– Learn about the Art of Blending wine with First Crush owner/winemaker Becky Zelinski. You’ll learn the history of how and why wines were blended then have the opportunity to create your own custom blend.
Say Cheese! (Vivant Fine Cheeses at First Crush Cellars)Enjoy artisanal cheeses paired with a variety of Paso Robles’ wines with Paso’s favorite cheese purveyor, Danika Gordon from Vivant Fine Cheeses.
