When making a blended wine, let's say a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend, there are some rules to abide by. The biggest one is what you can call your wine. In order to call your Cab a Cab, or your Pinot a Pinot, it has to be at least 75% that specific varietal. Now, if you want to just call it a blend, or a fancy name you have made up, that's fine, but that's the rule. So keep that in mind next time you're at one of our blending seminars and creating your own Cabernet Sauvignon!
